NOTE: 7:53-8:11 - Next to Mark 16:9-20, this passage is one of the most disputed by the Textual Critics. Like the passage in Mark, it is often omitted from the text in various translations - or otherwise attended with a note stating its lack of authenticity.

However, according to God's “Bible Numerics”, this passage is indeed an integral portion of the New Testament! Dr. Ivan Panin has done yeoman's duty since his discovery of God's Bible Numerics in 1890. He has spent 50 years of 100,000 hours producing a complete NT Greek text with noalternate readings, and made an English translation of this text. This latter also contains the Numeric sentence structure, subdivisions, paragraphs and sections (chapter equivalents) according to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit who inspired the 8 NT writers.

I have placed an 8 word or less summary for each sentence, and gathered these up into the higher divisions. These latter are notinspired - therefore I have left a space above each for you to replace them with your own summary should you see fit.

Sometimes, Bible Numerics agree with the Textual Critics. For instance, the ending of the Lord's prayer given to His disciples at their request, reads “For thine is the Kingdom, etc;” Bible Numerics agree that this verse is a copyist's addition, and does not rightly belong to the original texts. The truth is there, but in other portions.

On another occasion, Jesus is quoted as saying concerning the casting our of demons, “This kind comes not out except through prayer and fasting.” “And fasting” is an eager-beaver copyist's addition, and does not rightly belong in the text here. The teaching on “fasting” is not in any way jeopardized by this correction, for it appears in many other places in both the Old as well as the New Testament.

So - John 7:53-8:11 can be prayed over and meditated upon with fullconfidence, as well as Mark 16:9-20. One could dare say that Satan would be most happy to see both these portions omitted! The lessons contained in them are both important and significant. Note the divine wisdom of Jesus turned on the woman's persecutors, that sent them allleaving the field to Him.

John 8:12-20 would have been sufficient for Jesus' accusers to take him into custody, had it not been for the Father's Sovereign choice in appointing the final hour for His Son's crucifixion. Does God do this quite often? Quite often! He isour Sovereign God, and He fully utilized His Sovereignty in the timing of allevents in the life of His only begotten Son. And for us as adopted sons? Yes, that same Sovereignty is manifested for us too! For instance, see in the life of the apostle Paul as rendered in Galatians 1:15-16a - “But when it was God's good pleasure who separated me from my mother's womb and called methrough his :grace, to reveal his :Son in me, that...” The conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus was all arranged by God! The Resurrected Jesus then appeared to him, and commissioned him with an extraordinary Gentile commission, to be accompanied with extraordinary suffering!

How the world hated Jesus, because He clearly and boldly witnessed against it, because its deeds were evil! And the OT prophets also boldly witnessed against Kings and Rulers when they transgressed the truth of God. Scarce a prophet did not die a death of violence because of his faithful declarations of truth. And today? Should not prophets arise under the Sovereignty of God to challenge the evil of rulers today? Is our time any different than the times of John the Baptist - who confronted King Herod for an illegal marriage? May God still raise up faithful witnesses to so speak for Him, even though it may mean death for them. J.A.W.
